When you have a gorgeous girl like Julia, you plan for an epic bridal session.  When said bride comes in all the way from Maryland for her bridal session, you pray for great weather and for everything to go perfectly.  But, as upstate SC summer weather goes, the forecast for the day of Julia’s bridal session was 80% chance of rain.  Cue panic.  My AMAZING friend, Marc Wheeler, came to the rescue and let us shoot at his stunning venue, the Gassaway Mansion, in downtown Greenville, SC.  I had no idea just how beautiful this venue was.  The huge white columns on the front porch, the colorful flowers everywhere, and the incredible architecture inside the house….wow.  They had even held a wedding there the morning of the shoot and we got to play with the remnants of the decor! Gorgeous!

The venue was spectacular, no doubt.  And it was ALMOST as pretty as Julia.  Julia will tell you that she’s not your typical super girly girl.  But when she put on that dress (and WOW…that dress)…she could have fooled anyone.  She looked every bit the princess!  She does love her bling though (check out the jewelry).  She was such a trooper letting me play around with a new spot, and totally trusted me to get her out of the downpour that happened halfway through her shoot.

Brides to be – if you’re looking for a venue, do NOT skip the Gassaway Mansion.  DEFINITELY worth the look!
